Whenever my kids and I explore the shale coastline at Sandbanks Provincial Park, my youngest immediately insists that we are all pirates in search of treasure. Any boat out “at sea” is immediately considered to be enemy pirates, and we are forever in search of that buried treasure chest on the sandy shores nearby.
